The Syndicat Mixte d’Énergies, d’Équipements et de E-Communication du Jura (SIDEC) launched its territorial management tools in October 2024 with the GéoJura project, developed by NEOGEO in partnership with SOGEFI. This project aims to renew the departmental mapping platform, offering innovative and high-performance solutions for member local authorities. Through close collaboration, NEOGEO and SOGEFI designed a tailor-made platform that combines technical expertise with proven business solutions, transforming the management of geographic data and infrastructure in the Jura region.

A new-generation mapping platform

The GéoJura platform stands out for its modular, scalable architecture built on open source technologies. It consists of three main functional components:

  • A data warehouse: centralizing and structuring geographic data for optimized management.
  • A collaborative portal: an intuitive interface for publishing and promoting geographic content.
  • Business applications and an application generator: decision-support and day-to-day management tools, with advanced features for visualizing and leveraging data.

This architecture enables centralized data management while providing powerful tools for its use and enhancement.

Advanced features for efficient management

The GéoJura platform incorporates a wide range of advanced features, designed to meet the specific needs of local authorities:

  • Data cataloging and sharing: tools for managing and updating data repositories, with advanced search and consultation features.
  • Business applications: turnkey solutions for managing water and dry networks, land registry, planning permits, and much more.
  • Visualization and analysis tools: data visualization modules, interactive mapping, and dashboards for optimal data use.
  • Interoperability and mobility: compatible with OGC standards, and accessible on computer, mobile, and tablet for use anytime, anywhere.

A commitment to open source and innovation

NEOGEO and SOGEFI are strong advocates of open source, ensuring a sovereign, secure, and scalable solution. The GéoJura platform is designed to last, driven by a dynamic of open innovation and an active user community. This approach makes it possible to benefit from the latest technological advances while maintaining independence from proprietary software vendors.

Tailor-made support for successful implementation

To ensure the project’s success, we offered SIDEC tailor-made support, including:

  • Training and skills transfer: training sessions for administrators and key users, enabling quick and independent adoption of the platform.
  • Support and maintenance: technical assistance and phone support services, with a dedicated support platform for tracking issues and requests.
  • Technology watch and upgrades: regular updates to technology components and integration of new features to keep the platform at the cutting edge.

The GéoJura project marks a significant advance in territorial management for the Jura region. Thanks to the collaboration with our partner SOGEFI, SIDEC and its member local authorities now benefit from a modern, high-performance, and scalable mapping platform. This initiative perfectly illustrates how technological innovation can transform the management of geographic data and infrastructure, opening up new prospects for sustainable and efficient territorial development.
